SQL Server 2008: Ctrl-Shift-M

by Jon Davis 13. November 2008 14:59

When creating a new stored procedure in SQL Server Management Studio, the sproc template would generate:

		-- Use the Specify Values for Template Parameters -- command (Ctrl-Shift-M) to fill in the parameter -- values below.

Unfortunately, while the same template is used in SQL Server Management Studio for SQL Server 2008, Ctrl-Shift-M wasn't implemented.

The one-time fix is rather trivial:

  • Tools -> Options -> Environment -> Keyboard
  • Under Keyboard scheme, choose SQL Server 2000.
  • Click OK
  • Go back, .. Tools -> Options -> Environment -> Keyboard
  • Under Keyboard scheme, choose Standard.

About the author

Jon Davis Jon Davis (aka "stimpy77") has been a programmer, developer, and consultant for web and Windows software solutions professionally since 1997, with experience ranging from OS and hardware support to DHTML programming to IIS/ASP web apps to Java network programming to Visual Basic applications to C# desktop apps.

Software in all forms is also his sole hobby, whether playing PC games or tinkering with programming them. "I was playing Defender on the Commodore 64," he reminisces, "when I decided at the age of 12 or so that I want to be a computer programmer when I grow up."
